Eliza's Wasatch Back Race

Eliza just finished running in the Wasatch Back Relay Race on June 20-21. This is the Craziest race ever, but so fun! It is 181 Miles from Logan Utah to Park City Utah. We had a team of 12 and we finished in 26 hours. Out of 579 teams, THE INCREDIBLES finished 123rd. We were considered a mens team with 5 women and 7 men. I ran 3.5 miles at 7pm, 7 miles at 2:30 am and 6.1 miles at 11:30 am. This is at the start line with Jamie and Jen.This is one of the 2 Incredible's vans! There were 6 people in each van. All of the teams decorated their vans. It was so fun and crazy!At each exchange you would wait for your teammate and then pass on a slap bracelet. GO!Every person you pass is considered a KILL. On one leg, my friend Jared killed 24 people! On one of my legs I killed 15. Yes, this guy is about to be Dead! It was a good way to stay motivated while running!The van would stagger each runner and stop at the 1 mile mark to offer water or anything else they needed. It was really fun to make running such a team sport. This is right after my 7 miler in the dark at 2:30 am. It was my favorite run. I always feel like I am in trouble running in the dark or that I shouldn't be there, but to have an excuse to run in the dark, in the middle of nowhere with a billion stars, getting 15 kills, absolutely AMAZING!This is on the Ragnar leg! Jared on our team ran this 4 mile, 8 percent incline in 46 minutes! The key word is RAN! But it was Beautiful!

Aaron and the kids came up to see me at the finish line. Aaron was super daddy for 2 days while I killed my body. He was so sweet and even gave me a good massage when I got home. I slept 11 hours that night after only sleeping about 2 hours the whole trip. Thanks family for letting mom be so crazy sometimes~

A few days ago, I was in the bathroom, minding my own business when I heard, “Mom, I found this little guy in the back yard, can I keep him?” Oh, the dreaded mother’s words, “Alana, what do you have in the house!!!!” Alana found this little parakeet behind the BBQ in the backyard! Crazy! We went around asking neighbors if anyone knew anything. One of the neighbors gave us a cage! and Grandma Annie got some other much needed things for this poor bird. Thanks Grandma! We had had an awful windstorm the night before and we think she got blown into our yard, poor baby! So, Charlie is now an official new member of the family! Leave it to Alana to rescue an animal! We think it is just a baby.

This is our cousin Eme. She is Sacha and Paul Gomez’s 10 month old. She is such a cute thing and just about the same size as Marrick! We were having family night in our back yard and let the kids swim.

We had the awesome chance to have cousin Orion, Sarah’s son come to Utah for a few days! These kids played so hard! Ammon was so excited to have a boy around! Thanks for coming Orion! He is off to Switzerland to stay with his dad for the summer, but we get to see him again in September. Love you Orion!
Orion is such a nice, sweet boy. Alana was so excited that Orion was coming that she could barely stand it! She kept saying, this is the cousin that will wrestle with me, right?

We have a dad that reads to us, plays with us, sings to us, talks to us, squirts us with water, loves us, lets us watch him play, cuddles with us, shares his root beer with us, plays hot potato with us, and best of all, he is all ours!!!! LOVE YOU DAD!

Alana graduated from Kindergarten! Hooray!!! She had the most amazing teacher, Mrs. Robinaugh. This teacher truly went the extra mile for these kids! Alana is reading, writing and is doing it well. They had an amazing program called writer’s workshop. It really worked! Congrats Alana! And on to the rest of your life…..

This is our primary presidency in our ward. Oh, we have way too much Fun! The theme for the month of June in Primary is focused on the Temple. So, we took all the primary kids to the Timp temple on a Saturday morning. They each got to walk around it, touch it and even walk in the front doors. Then we colored cards that said thanks for coming to the temple today and put them on cars in the parking lot. It was such a neat experience. I was in charge of a message, so I am all teary-eyed about families being together forever when one little girl yells, did you know that a dragon is the only thing that can make a temple fall down? Thank goodness for the Sunbeams. Where would we be without them?

Ammon was so proud to touch the temple! He keeps telling us that the only way to the temple is the staight path.
Alana was amazed that she got to walk inside the temple. She got to see a man in white.
I love to see the Temple, I'm going there someday. To feel the Holy Spirit, to listen and to pray. For the Temple is a house of God a place of love and beauty, I'll prepare myself while I am young, this is my sacred duty.

Ammon is so proud of himself to be riding the big boy bike. He has gotten really good now. He is our sweet boy. It’s hard to believe that he will be 4 in July! This bike was the best 10 dollar yard sale find ever. Good one Grama Annie!

This is what our yard looks like now that it’s summer time! We should open a zoo, oh I mean a daycare! The kids are all having way too much fun! We are so lucky to have great neighbor kids around. I just wish there were more boys for Ammon!

Alana is our little artist. She is especially good at unicorns. She begged me to water color the other day. We also love to paint with water on the sidewalk. Do you remember that Becca and Emma? Here Alana is drawing her much-adored webkin named UNI.
This is baby MAC with one of his favorite toys, his own broom. Sweep away! He sure is cute, I guess we will keep him. :)
This is our Marrick Aaron. He is 15 months old now. Did I mention he LOVES to play in the dirt? Well, he can also be found often in the gutter! My, what good parents he has!
