8
th birthdays are a big deal. It is the year you are old
enough to choose to be baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and you become a big kid. When I grew up we got big parties on our 8
th, 12
th and 16
th birthdays and we feel like that is a good tradition to continue. So, I wanted to do something that Alana wanted and would love. It was actually Auntie Amber that talked me into doing a "dog party." (thank you!) And wow did she just LOVE it!

We started out with the invitations telling the kiddos to bring
their favorite stuffed dog from home to be groomed and be a part of our dog show. Then they got to our church building (plenty of room for the dogs and kids to run around) and they bathed, combed, cut fur, and gave medicine to their pups. Next was the collar and tag making station where they made a collar out of felt, buttons and jewels. Then we had the kids sit into a circle and each kid presented and told about
their dog in the middle of the circle. Then we played pass the dog to "How much is that doggie in the window?"

Then We played pin the tail on the dog.

We had some interesting placements of tails.
(outfit from Aunt Amber, Thank you! Sooo cute!)

Time for Birthday cake,

For dessert Alana wanted donuts.
